La Storia e La Creazione dei Nostri Guanti

The History and The Creation of Our Gloves

The Martelli brand was born in Florence in Por Santa Maria, near the Ponte Vecchio, in February 1967.

The store was among those that suffered from the flood in November 1966.
Since then, the Martelli family, now in its third generation, has been producing and selling gloves made from fine leathers and a wide variety of linings.

Our gloves are appreciated and purchased all over the world precisely for the variety of interiors, which differ according to customer needs. People who use them in colder countries can count on very warm linings: rabbit and 100% cashmere.

To the customer who cannot give up a thin and elegant glove but still wants to be enveloped by the softness of cashmere, we offer a lining made of 15% cashmere and 85% silk. Customers who use them in warmer countries can also benefit from Martelli gloves, thanks to the unlined or lightly lined genuine leather gloves, which allow for a better fit without weighing down the hand.

The processing is entirely manual and consists of these phases:

    • After selecting the leathers, they are dyed in the desired colors.
    • Once this is done, the leather goes to the cutter, who, once well spread out, shapes the glove with the help of templates, based on models and sizes.
    • The product now passes into the precise and attentive hands of the sewing staff and, where necessary, to the embroiderers (for the designs on the back of the glove).
    • After these processing phases, quality control is carried out, linings and labels are inserted, and the product is completed with ironing and packaging.
